Europe loses one stage 3 slot for Budapest Major 2025

Valve has announced the invitation distribution for the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 in CS2. The European region has lost one slot in the third stage, which has been transferred to the Americas.

Invites for the Budapest Major:

Stage 3:

• Europe — 5 slots

• Americas — 2 slots

• Asia — 1 slot

Stage 2:

• Europe — 5 slots

• Americas — 2 slots

• Asia — 1 slot

Stage 1:

• 16 teams — exact distribution TBA

Europe lost one slot in the third stage due to performance at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, where two teams from the Americas — paiN Gaming and FURIA Esports — reached the playoffs.

The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 will take place from November 24 to December 14 in Hungary, featuring a $1.25 million prize pool.
According to Valve’s updated rules, the tournament will be held without open qualifiers.
