CS Asia Championships 2026 Announced
Perfect World, the tournament organizer, has officially announced CS Asia Championships 2026, one of the largest upcoming events in Counter-Strike 2, set to take place from May 18 to 24, 2026, in Shanghai, China. The event is expected to be a major highlight in next year’s esports calendar and continues the effort to strengthen the role of the Asian region in the global CS2 scene.
According to organizers, the tournament will feature 16 teams. Of those, 12 will receive direct invites based on the current Valve ranking. Two more slots will be awarded through Asian qualifiers, giving regional teams the chance to compete on an international stage. The remaining two positions will be filled by Wildcard recipients, selected at the discretion of organisers.
The tournament will offer a $1,000,000 prize pool, with the majority of the funds going to the clubs rather than players. Perfect World has utilized this structure before, with the aim of giving back to organizations and helping them develop in the long term in professional esports.
Shanghai will once again be the host city, solidifying itself as a primary destination for top-tier esports tournaments. Previously, the city also held Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, and this October 2025, it will also host CS Asia Championships 2025, both of which are part of Perfect World.
Even though CS Asia Championships 2026's final team roster isn't out yet, the high-ranking requirement hints at participation from leading teams across Asia, Europe, and the CIS. The event is shaping up to be not just a best-of-class event, but also a strong push towards making CS2 even more global and expanding its audience across the entire Asian market.
