BLAST bans large gadgets at Major playoffs — no case openings this time
Tournament organizer BLAST has published a list of prohibited items for the playoffs of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. The announcement was made on the company’s official website.
The list includes various potentially dangerous items, video equipment (except GoPro cameras), banners and flags that may be considered political, commercial, or offensive, among other things. Additionally, the organizers have banned bringing any electronic devices larger than a mobile phone. This rule applies to laptops, tablets, and other similar devices.
The restriction on large gadgets will impact a long-standing tradition at LAN Counter-Strike tournaments — opening cases on laptops. During breaks between rounds, tournament broadcasts often show fans trying their luck at scoring rare items from cases.
The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is taking place from June 3 to June 22 in the United States. Teams are competing for a $1.25 million prize pool.
