BLAST Bounty Season 2 continues the innovative format first introduced in early 2025, which quickly received praise from the Counter-Strike 2 community. The tournament is a striking example of how traditional competitive structures can be revitalized by adding real monetary stakes to every match. Held in August 2025, the second season includes both an online stage and an offline final in Malta. The total prize pool stands at $500,000, and the fight for every dollar begins from the very first round.

The online stage features 32 teams competing in a double elimination format. To advance to the next stage, a team needs to win two Best-of-3 series. Teams that lose twice are eliminated from the tournament. The top eight teams from this phase will advance to the LAN final, scheduled for August 14–17. The final will use a single elimination format with BO3 matches, and a BO5 grand final. At this stage, every decision and round can be worth tens of thousands of dollars, thanks to the unique bounty system that defines the event.

It’s the bounty system that makes BLAST Bounty stand out. Before the tournament begins, the top 16 seeded teams are awarded initial monetary bonuses — the higher the seed, the higher the bounty. For example, Vitality, MOUZ, Spirit, and The MongolZ start with $60,000 each. Next come Aurora, FaZe, NAVI, and FURIA with $30,000. G2, Legacy, Virtus.pro, and Astralis each receive $20,000, while Liquid, paiN, B8, and HEROIC begin with $15,000. Teams seeded from 17th to 32nd receive no initial bonus, but they are allowed to choose their opponents in the first round — a strategic advantage for underdogs.

The core idea behind the bounty system is simple: if a team defeats an opponent with an existing bounty, it takes half of that amount for itself, and the other half is added to its own bounty. This means that beating stronger teams is not only prestigious but also financially rewarding. One upset victory can result in a major financial gain, with tens of thousands of dollars changing hands in a single match.

This season’s lineup is impressive. Representing Europe are giants like Vitality, MOUZ, FaZe, NAVI, G2, Ninjas in Pyjamas, OG, fnatic, FUT, and ENCE. Russia is represented by Spirit, Virtus.pro, BetBoom, and Nemiga. From Ukraine come B8, TNL, and the promising new org Passion UA. Brazil brings FURIA, paiN, Legacy, and MIBR. From the United States, there’s Liquid, Complexity, and NRG. Denmark fields Astralis and ECSTATIC; Sweden — HEROIC; Germany — BIG. Also participating are FlyQuest from Australia, The MongolZ from Mongolia, and Rare Atom from China.

BLAST Bounty Season 2

The online stage began on August 5 and will run until the 10th, with four matches played each day. Right from the early rounds, we’ll see high-stakes matchups such as FaZe vs BetBoom, G2 vs Nemiga, NAVI vs TNL, and Virtus.pro vs MIBR. All games are played on European servers, with the schedule optimized for fans around the globe to follow the action.

Vitality are considered the tournament favorites — the team had one of the strongest winning streaks at the Tier-1 level earlier this season. Hot on their heels are Spirit, winners of the first Bounty season, still fielding star players donk and zont1x. MOUZ and The MongolZ are also top contenders, both seeded in the top four and showing excellent form in recent events. Other potential finalists include NAVI, FURIA, and FaZe.

The tournament’s format ensures that any team can shine. The ability to choose first-round opponents, the absence of LAN pressure in the early stages, and the lure of real money create ideal conditions for upsets. Teams without initial bounties have nothing to lose — but everything to gain. Squads like B8, FlyQuest, and Complexity have already proven they can surprise top-tier teams, and BLAST Bounty gives them the perfect stage to do just that.

The LAN final in Malta will be the season’s climax. The top eight teams will compete not only for the title of Season 2 champions but also for the massive cash prizes accumulated through bounty mechanics. This makes the finals incredibly intense — it’s not just about the trophy, but also about serious money, figuratively stacked on the heads of the favorites.

Cologne Is a Major Again — 10 Years Later

BLAST Bounty Season 2 turns the traditional tournament bracket into a high-stakes game of headhunting. Every loss means losing money. Every kill is a step toward real financial victory. It’s a fresh breath for CS2, where competitive spirit meets risk, reward, and strategy. All that’s left is to follow the results and prepare for an explosive finale in August — where esports will show its new face.
