CS2 Improves CT Economy and Buffs Molotov in Latest Update

Valve has released a new update for Counter-Strike 2, revealing major changes in the gameplay mechanics that affect team balance. The update centers mostly on the Counter-Terrorist (CT) side, economy updates, and the behavior of certain weapons and grenades. CT Economy Changes

One of the key updates is the adjustment to money rewards for the CT side. CT players will now receive an additional $50 for each killed enemy, split among the entire team. This change is done to balance the economy within the game because the Terrorist faction had a financial advantage when playing aggressively.

The new system is designed to provide CT teams with more economic stability, even after lost rounds, allowing them to buy weapons and utility more consistently without being forced into eco rounds too frequently.

Weapon Adjustments: MP9 Nerfed

The developers also focused on the MP9 submachine gun, which has long been considered one of the most versatile and cost-effective weapons for CTs. The MP9 was nerfed in this patch with increased recoil and reduced accuracy when jumping. This nerf should end its overpowered state in close-range fights, especially in professional matches and matchmaking.

Molotov Gets a Buff

The Molotov (or Incendiary Grenade) has also been significantly updated. The fire now spreads more quickly across surfaces, making it a more effective tool for delaying enemy advances or blocking pathways. This change is expected to impact tactical decisions, especially when defending bombsites.

Other Changes

Apart from the patch, Valve also released Season 3 of Premier Mode that brought a new leaderboard system and improved matchmaking. The game also has an item protection system in which players can retrieve their skins in case of an account hack.
